if slaves did not appear to be doing their full share of work, they were often whipped by the overseer. slaves live in poor conditions and had little to eat. even though there condition, Slaves kept there customs.

really without slaves ther would have been no food. the Stone Rebellion in 1739. the Stone Rebellion was when rebelled against the whites. The bacons Rebellion was in 1676. the Bacon Rebellion was a rebellion between the frontier men, natives ,and the Royal gov. of virginia

Planters turned into slaves b/c land owners needed cheap labor. the tide water and frontier settlers had tensions because the frontier were jealous of the rich planters.

At first first panters tried to enslave Native American. But to many Native Americans etiher died of diseases brought by Europeans or were able to escape b/c knew the land so well.. By 1750, there was over 235000 enslaved Africans in America. About 68% lived in the southern colonies.
